Mask Wearing
Masks are no longer mandatory except for high-risk settings for people aged 12 years and older (including year 7s) in the following settings:
* on public transport, in taxis and rideshare vehicles and other passenger transport.
* airports.
* hospitals, residential aged care and disability service facilities, and correctional facilities.
Masks are encouraged where physical distancing isn’t possible.
Density and Capacity Limits
The 2 square metre (2sqm) rule is removed for places of worship, venues and businesses.

31 March 2022: The 2 square metre (2sqm) rule applies to Places of Worship from 12:01am, Thursday, 31 March 2022. Contact registration is not required at Places of Worship.

Persons who feel unwell, who have flu/respiratory symptoms, elevated body temperatures or who have been in close contact in the previous fourteen (14) days with persons who have COVID-19, who have been tested for COVID – 19 and are awaiting results, who should be self-isolating,
are not permitted to enter churches.

Perth Metropolitan and Peel Region: Four (4) day lockdown
The Premier has this evening advised that from 12.01am, Tuesday, 29 June 2021, Perth and the Peel Region will enter into a four (4) day lockdown until 12.01am, Saturday, 3 July 2021.
Places of worship in the Perth metro and Peel region are to close.

Post-lockdown transition: The easing of restrictions for the Perth and Peel regions from 12.01am, Saturday 8 May, 2021 to 12.01 am Saturday 15 May 2021 will be in place as follows:
• places of worship can reopen to 100% capacity;
Places of worship are now exempt from the 2 square metre rule and are able to operate at 100 per cent capacity of a space being used for formal worship.
Contact Registers
Churches, chapels and Mass centres are required to keep Contact Registers as part of their COVID Safety Plans. This is mandatory.
Any person aged 16 years and over who attends a place of worship, including patrons, staff, volunteers and contractors will be required to register their contact details. The details required for the contact register include: name, contact number, date and arrival time at the venue.
Records are not required to be collected for children under 16 years.
Transition Out of Lockdown 12 February 2021
A message from The Most Rev Timothy Costelloe SDB Archbishop of Perth
Today, Premier Mark McGowan has advised that all Transition Out of Lockdown restrictions for the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions will end at 12.01am on Sunday, 14 February 2021.
This means that from 12.01am on Sunday, 14 February 2021 masks will no longer be required to be worn either inside or outside, there will be no travel restrictions in WA (except for remote Aboriginal communities) and the 4 square metre rule will be discontinued.

Updates to COVID Safety Plans
Places of worship are now exempt from the 2 square metre rule and are able to operate at a 60 per cent capacity.
On Wednesday, 25 November 2020 the Western Australian Government announced that from Saturday, 5 December 2020 identified Western Australian businesses and venues will be required to maintain mandatory Contact Registers for staff and patrons for the purpose of COVID-19 contact tracing by the WA Department of Health, should it be required.
