Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan
Father Francis Jordan was born on 16 June 1848 in Gurtweil, a small town in the archdiocese of Freiburg (Germany). After ordination to the priesthood on 21 July 1878, he was sent to Rome, where he spent most of his life. Motivated by the apostolic zeal and desire to make Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world, known and loved by all people, everywhere, he founded the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) in 1881 and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior (Salvatorian Sisters) in 1888. He also organized groups of lay people to take part in the Church´s mission of evangelization using all ways and means. He died on 8 September 1918 in Tafers in Switzerland.

Thanksgiving prayer for the Beatification of Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan
O God of love and kindness,
we give you thanks for raising up for your people
the inspiring example of
Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan.
Please hear our prayer,
that through his intercession,
we may be granted the grace to respond
to our apostolic vocation with zeal and trust, as he did.
Give us the courage to embrace our call
like Blessed Francis Jordan,
with the desire to save all people.
Enlighten us to be united in mission
so that all may know, love, and serve our Divine Saviour.
We pray this through Jesus Christ, who lives with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
Amen
The Salvatorians
Also known as the Society of the Divine Saviour, the Salvatorians are a Catholic religious community founded by Fr. Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan in 1881. Their mission is to proclaim the goodness of God’s love to all people, with a deep commitment to making Jesus Christ known and loved everywhere.
In Australia, the Salvatorians have been present since 1961, dedicating themselves to serving the needs of the people through pastoral care, education, social outreach, and parish ministry. They believe in working together as brothers and sisters in Christ, striving to create vibrant, faith-filled communities that reflect God’s compassion and love for all.
