Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan
Father Francis Jordan was born on 16 June 1848 in Gurtweil, a small town in the archdiocese of Freiburg (Germany). After ordination to the priesthood on 21 July 1878, he was sent to Rome, where he spent most part of his life. Motivated by the apostolic zeal and desire to make Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world, known and loved by all people, everywhere, he founded the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) in 1881 and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior (Salvatorian Sisters) in 1888. He also organized groups of lay people to take part in the Church´s mission of evangelization using all ways and means. He died on 8 September 1918 in Tafers in Switzerland.

This course offers a general overview of Scripture and its significance for our lives. The central topics covered include: an understanding of the Bible in context, the relationship between the Old and New Testaments, how we understand the Church through Scripture and the importance of tradition and revelation. This course belongs to a 4-part series on Scripture, Prayer and Sacraments, Christian Anthropology and Catholic Values. CEWA Ongoing Renewal: this course has been approved for Knowledge.

Updates to COVID Safety Plans
Post-lockdown transition: The easing of restrictions for the Perth and Peel regions from 12.01am, Saturday 8 May, 2021 to 12.01 am Saturday 15 May 2021 will be in place as follows:
• places of worship can reopen to 100% capacity;
Places of worship are now exempt from the 2 square metre rule and are able to operate at 100 per cent capacity of a space being used for formal worship.
The faithful are dispensed from the usual Sunday obligation.
Churches, chapels and Mass centres are required to keep Contact Registers as part of their COVID Safety Plans. This is mandatory.
Any person aged 16 years and over who attends a place of worship, including patrons, staff, volunteers and contractors will be required to register their contact details. The details required for the contact register include: name, contact number, date and arrival time at the venue.
Records are not required to be collected for children under 16 years.
Persons who feel unwell, who have flu/respiratory symptoms, elevated body temperatures or who have been in contact in the previous fourteen (14) days with persons suspected to have COVID-19, who have been tested for COVID - 19 and are awaiting results, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, who have travelled Overseas or Interstate in the last 14 days and should be self-isolating,
are not permitted to enter churches.
